OnePlus is gearing up for a packed launch night in India as it prepares to unveil the OnePlus 15R and the new OnePlus Pad Go 2 later today. The event is being positioned as a major milestone for the brand, coinciding with OnePlus’ 12th anniversary celebrations in India. The company will host its keynote in Bengaluru, where community members have also been invited to take part in the celebrations, suggesting how important this launch is for OnePlus’ India strategy. The launch event will kick off at 6:55pm IST and will be live-streamed on the OnePlus India YouTube channel. The spotlight of the evening will firmly be on the OnePlus 15R and the OnePlus 15R Ace Edition. While OnePlus has stayed tight-lipped on official pricing so far, leaks over the past few days have painted a fairly clear picture of what buyers can expect. The OnePlus 15R is tipped to arrive in at least two configurations, including 12GB RAM with 256GB storage and a higher 12GB RAM with 512GB storage variant. The phone is confirmed to launch in Charcoal Black, Mint Green and Electric Violet colour options and will be sold through Amazon and the OnePlus India online store.
OnePlus 15R specs
At its core, the OnePlus 15R is expected to be a performance-focused phone, staying true to the R-series identity. The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, making it one of the first smartphones globally to run this non-Elite version of Qualcomm’s latest silicon. OnePlus China president Li Jie has already stated that the Ace 6T, which serves as the base for the Indian 15R, is the first phone to use this chip. OnePlus is putting a lot of emphasis on gaming, with claims of smoother gameplay at high refresh rates and a custom gaming kernel capable of sustaining up to 165Hz in supported titles.
While the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 inside the 15R sits a step below the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 found in the more expensive OnePlus 15, the difference is largely on paper. The standard Gen 5 runs at slightly lower clock speeds and misses out on Qualcomm’s High-Performance Memory feature. In real-world usage, however, the phone is still expected to offer a noticeable leap over last year’s hardware and could comfortably challenge phones priced well above it, including some from OnePlus’ own lineup.
Design-wise, the OnePlus 15R is expected to follow the brand’s updated design language. Teasers suggest a familiar squircle-shaped camera module at the back, while OnePlus has officially confirmed a 165Hz refresh rate display on the front. Leaks from China point to a 6.7-inch OLED panel with a 1.5K resolution, which should strike a good balance between sharp visuals and power efficiency.
Battery life could be one of the phone’s biggest highlights. The China-exclusive Ace 6T packs an 8,000mAh battery with 100W fast charging support. If the same setup makes its way to India, the OnePlus 15R would become the brand’s biggest battery phone yet. OnePlus’ own marketing around endurance and long-lasting performance strongly hints that Indian users may get the same massive battery, which would be a big draw for gamers and heavy users.
Camera expectations, however, remain relatively grounded. The OnePlus 15R is tipped to feature a dual rear camera system with a 50-megapixel primary sensor paired with an 8-megapixel secondary camera, along with a 32-megapixel camera on the front. This suggests that the focus is firmly on performance and battery life rather than photography, especially when compared to OnePlus’ flagship models.
Other features expected on the phone include a metal middle frame, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, an X-axis linear motor for improved haptics and NFC support. On the software side, while the China model runs ColorOS, the Indian variant is expected to ship with OxygenOS based on Android 16.
OnePlus 15R price in India (expected/leaked)
Pricing remains the biggest question going into the launch. In China, the Ace 6T starts at CNY 2,599, roughly translating to around Rs 33,000. In India, however, the OnePlus 15R is expected to be positioned higher. Leaks suggest the base 256GB variant could be priced between Rs 47,000 and Rs 49,000, while the top-end model with 512GB storage may cross the Rs 52,000 mark. Bank discounts of up to Rs 3,000 or Rs 4,000 on select credit and debit cards are also expected at launch.
OnePlus Pad Go 2 specs
Alongside the smartphones, OnePlus will also introduce the Pad Go 2 in India, which brings several notable upgrades over the original Pad Go. The tablet features a larger 12.1-inch display with a sharper 2800 x 1980 resolution and a 7:5 aspect ratio, aimed at improving productivity, reading and split-screen usage. OnePlus claims an 88.5 percent screen-to-body ratio and up to 900nits peak brightness in high-brightness mode, while Dolby Vision support makes its debut on the Pad Go series.
Powering the Pad Go 2 is the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra chipset, a clear upgrade over the Helio G99 used earlier. The tablet will run OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16 out of the box and is expected to launch with 8GB RAM. OnePlus has also confirmed TUV SUD certification, claiming consistent performance for up to four years.
Battery life is another strong point. The Pad Go 2 packs a 10,050mAh battery with 33W SuperVOOC charging support, although a 45W charger will be included in the box. OnePlus claims up to 15 hours of video playback, 53 hours of music playback and up to 60 days of standby time. The tablet also supports reverse wired charging, allowing it to charge other devices when needed.
For the first time, the Pad Go lineup will also support a stylus. The new Pad Go 2 Stylo offers 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity and fast charging, with OnePlus claiming that a quick 10-minute charge can deliver hours of usage. Software features include AI Writer, AI Summary, AI Translation and AI Recorder, along with OnePlus’ Open Canvas multitasking system.
OnePlus Pad Go 2 price in India (expected)
At launch, OnePlus has confirmed a Shadow Black 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant with 5G support. Pricing has not been officially revealed yet, but the Pad Go 2 is expected to stay under Rs 25,000, slightly higher than the original Pad Go’s starting price of Rs 19,999, reflecting the added hardware and software upgrades.
With the launch just hours away, all eyes are now on OnePlus to see how aggressively it prices the OnePlus 15R and Pad Go 2 in India, and whether the brand can once again shake up the premium mid-range and tablet segments.
