The Nothing Phone 3 will launch in India on July 1, which is tomorrow. The device is coming nearly two years after the launch of the Nothing Phone 2. While the company has been tight-lipped about the full specifications, several leaks and teasers over the past few weeks have left little to the imagination. From a new camera system to faster charging and a fresh design language, the Phone 3 could be a step forward in many ways. Unlike the previous models that leaned heavily on design to grab attention, the focus this time seems to be more balanced — offering a mix of good looks, improved performance, and practical upgrades. The most notable change appears to be in the camera department, but there are improvements across the board. Here are the details based on the leaks.

New processor?

According to leaks, the Nothing Phone 3 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor. This is a big upgrade over the Snapdragon 778G SoC seen on the previous model. While it’s not the top-of-the-line chip from Qualcomm, it is still part of the flagship series and should deliver smooth performance for most users. For everyday tasks, gaming, and multitasking, this processor should be more than capable, especially when combined with higher RAM options. However, companies like iQOO (Neo 10) and Poco (F7) are offering phones with the same chip for under Rs 35,000. It will be interesting to see how Nothing will convince users to buy its new offering at a premium price.

Nothing is tipped to offer the Phone 3 in two configurations, one with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, and another with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. This gives users the choice to go for more memory if needed, something power users will likely appreciate.

Any camera upgrades?

The biggest highlight of the Phone 3 could be its new camera setup. Nothing has officially confirmed that the device will feature a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. This will be the first time a Nothing phone includes a zoom lens, allowing up to 3x optical zoom. Along with this, leaks suggest there will be a 50-megapixel main sensor and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, giving the phone a triple camera setup — a clear step up from the dual-camera layout on the Phone 2.

Even the selfie camera is expected to get an upgrade. The front sensor may move from 32 megapixels to 50 megapixels, and there’s a chance autofocus will be added this time, which would help improve selfies and video calls.

Familiar display, better battery

On the front, the Phone 3 is likely to keep the same 6.7-inch LTPO OLED display as the Phone 2. While the size and panel might not change, LTPO tech ensures smoother refresh rates and helps save some battery. Speaking of battery, the Nothing Phone 3 could get a boost here as well, with a larger 5,150mAh unit replacing the 4,700mAh cell used in the previous version.

But what’s more interesting is the rumour that it could support 100W wired charging. That would make it one of the fastest-charging phones in its segment. It is currently unknown whether the device will offer support for the wireless charging tech.

Design changes and Glyph updates

Nothing phones are known for their semi-transparent back design and unique Glyph interface. But this year, things might look a little different. Leaked images show a new camera arrangement with visible screws and sharper design elements. The new “Glyph Matrix” display is expected to be placed in the top corner of the back panel, replacing the symmetrical light patterns of the previous models. Some users might find it interesting, while others may not like the change, but it does help the phone stand out.

The images also show the phone in black and off-white colours. We can see three cameras placed on different parts of the upper rear panel. There is no camera module, and the sensors are placed separately. But, they appear to be more prominent and protrude more than before. This is likely because of the added periscope lens. But nothing is confirmed and one should wait for the official details.

eSIM and software

Another small but useful addition this year could be the eSIM support. This was missing on the Nothing Phone 2 and could be helpful for users who want to switch networks more easily or travel abroad.

Nothing’s custom software, known as Nothing OS, is expected to continue offering a clean and minimal Android experience. Over time, the brand has improved software stability, and users will likely see more polish and fluid animations this time around.

Nothing Phone 3: India price expectations

While global pricing leaks suggest a price tag of $799 (around Rs 68,000), the India price is expected to be more competitive. The Nothing Phone 3 might launch somewhere between Rs 50,000 and Rs 60,000, depending on the variant. This would make it a strong contender against rivals like the Pixel 9a and iPhone 16e. Carl Pei had earlier hinted that the Phone 3 could be priced at a very premium level, costing “around EUR 800.” This is around $1,063 in the US and Rs 90,500 in India after conversion.
