The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that the fourth edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) will be held in Navi Mumbai and Vadodara from 9 January to 5 February. WPL chairman Jayesh George announced the dates and venues after delivering the opening address at the WPL mega auction in New Delhi on Thursday, 27 November.
It had been widely expected that the WPL would shift to a home-and-away format this season, riding on the momentum generated by the Women’s World Cup 2025 in India. However, the BCCI appears to need more time before expanding the league to additional cities.
Even as bidding wars for top stars such as Meg Lanning and Deepti Sharma unfolded in New Delhi, the BCCI confirmed the schedule and host venues.

This edition will once again follow the caravan model, with the first set of matches played in Navi Mumbai before the tournament moves to Vadodara for the final leg, including the championship match. The 2026 WPL season will begin at the venue that hosted the Women’s World Cup final, where India defeated South Africa earlier this month to clinch their maiden world title.
Last year, the WPL was staged across four venues — Bengaluru, Lucknow, Mumbai and Vadodara. The Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai hosted the final between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals, with Harmanpreet Kaur’s side beating Delhi to become the first team to win the title twice.
India will host back-to-back major tournaments early in 2026. Following the WPL, the country will stage the men’s T20 World Cup across five venues — Chennai, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Delhi and Kolkata. Sri Lanka, the co-hosts, will host the marquee India–Pakistan clash in Colombo. The 20-team World Cup will run from 7 February to 8 March.
