Apple has announced the latest generation of the MacBook Pro and iPad Pro models with the new M5 chipset. The new processor brings major performance gains compared to the M4, with a big focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI). The new devices have a similar design as last year, but also have improved battery life.
M5 MacBook Pro and iPad Pro prices in India
Apple decided to keep the prices of the new MacBook Pro and iPad Pro unchanged from last year. The 14-inch MacBook Pro is priced at Rs 1,69,900 for the base variant with 16GB unified memory and 512GB storage. Students and teachers can purchase the device for a discount, at just Rs 1,59,900.
The top-of-the-line M5 MacBook Pro comes with 32GB of unified memory and 1TB of storage. It is priced at Rs 2,89,900. The Cupertino giant has not announced the M5 Pro and M5 Max variants yet.
For the M5 iPad Pro, there are two variants going on sale, the 11-inch and 13-inch models. The base 256GB variant of the 11-inch iPad Pro with WiFi only starts at Rs 99,900, with education offers bringing it down to Rs 89,900. If you want cellular connectivity, you will need to pay Rs 1,19,900.
Users can choose from 256GB storage, all the way up to 2TB. The top-of-the-line 2TB 11-inch iPad Pro with nano-texture glass costs Rs 2,19,900.
The 13-inch iPad Pro starts at Rs 1,29,900 for the WiFi only variant with 256GB storage. Students can get this variant for just Rs 1,09,000. Additionally, the cellular variant costs Rs 1,49,900.
Similar to the 11-inch model, the 13-inch M5 iPad Pro also comes with a host of storage options. The 2TB variant with nano-texture glass is priced at Rs 2,49,900.
Education savings are available on all variants. You can also purchase the Apple Pencil for Rs 7,900 or the Pencil Pro for Rs 11,900.
The Magic Keyboard is priced at Rs 29,900 for the 11-inch M5 iPad Pro and Rs 33,900 for the 13-inch variant.
How to pre-order Apple M5 MacBook Pro and iPad Pro
Consumers can pre-order the M5 MacBook Pro or the iPad Pro from Apple’s official website or the Apple Store app on their iPhones. The units will reach buyers from October 22, the same day when the products officially go on sale.

The biggest talking point for the new MacBook Pro and iPad Pro with the M5 chipset is AI. Apple has massively increased the AI capabilities in the M5 chipset. Apple claims that the M5 provides 3.5 times better performance in AI workflows compared to the previous generation.
The M5 has a Neural Accelerator in each core, which is essential for AI tasks. The latest Apple silicon also gets a 1.6 times graphics boost compared to the M4.
The performance gains are evident on both the MacBook Pro and the iPad Pro, with major gains over previous generations.
Apart from the chipset, the M5 MacBook Pro comes with a Liquid Retina XDR display with nano-texture options, and also gets a 12-megapixel front camera with Centre Stage. Apple has also integrated Apple Intelligence in MacOS Tahoe.
The new iPad Pro also comes with a vibrant Ultra Retina XDR display in both screen sizes. It also gets Centre Stage in its 12-megapixel front sensor, along with a 12-megapixel rear camera. The iPad Pro is pitched as the ideal tool for creators with Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard support.
