Poco is having a busy time lately. The company launched two phones in the M8 series last month – the M8 Power and M8x. Now, it has launched two new models in the X8 series – the Poco X8 and the Poco X8 Power. Both devices cater to users who want good battery life in a premium package without creating a deep hole in their pockets.
With the Poco X8 and the X8 Power, the company now has four phones in its X8 series. The X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max were launched in March this year.
But what do the Poco X8 and X8 Power bring to the table? From the design to the specs, and the price, here is everything you need to know.
Poco X8 and X8 Power: Design
Both phones come with a similar design to the rest of the X8 series, but with some tweaks. The Poco X8 comes with a vertically-placed rectangular camera module with two circular cutouts for the cameras. The flash is placed right beside the module. The X8 also gets a split design on the plastic back that may appeal to some users. You also get Poco branding on the bottom left, as well as a flat plastic frame.
Depending on the colour you may get some different elements on the Poco X8. While the orange shade gets a contrasting frame and camera module, the white variant gets an orange element on the back.
On the other hand, the Poco X8 Power takes a slightly different approach. You get a more square-ish camera module that includes the flash alongside the camera cutouts. The Poco Yellow variant of the X8 Power comes with a black camera module. It also gets a black plastic frame that contrasts with the yellow backplate. The backplate comes with a vegan-leather finish which feels quite premium.
The Poco X8 Power has a thickness of 8.65 mm and weighs 223 grams.
The X8 and the X8 Power both come with IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance.
Poco X8 and X8 Power: Display
Coming to the front. Both, the X8 and the X8 Power, feature a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED displays with a 120Hz refresh rate. Poco says the panels support 12-bit colour, HDR10 Plus, Dolby Vision, TV Rheinland eye protection and Wet Touch 2.0.
Both phones also get a peak brightness of 3,500 nits and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. The X8 and the X8 Power also come with optical in-display fingerprint sensors. You also get dual speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio support.
Poco X8 and X8 Power: Battery and charging
Batteries are a key focus of the X8 and X8 Power. The X8 Power, in particular, packs a massive 10,000mAh battery, making it one of the largest you can get in a smartphone in India today – the Realme P4 Power has a 10,001mAh cell. The X8 Power supports 100W wired charging and 27W reverse wired charging.
The standard X8 is not too far behind either. It comes with a 9,000mAh cell and 67W wired fast charging support. The X8 can reverse charge at 22.5W.
Poco X8 and X8 Power: Performance
On the performance front, the Poco X8 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chip, while the X8 Power runs on Snapdragon 6 Gen 5. Poco says the X8 Power is the first phone in India to come with this new chipset, built on a 4nm process. The company claims an AnTuTu score of more than 1 million for the X8 Power.
The Poco X8 Power goes a step further in performance. You get 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The 128GB variant comes with UFS 2.2 storage. The X8, meanwhile, gets up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Like the X8 Power, the 128GB models have UFS 2.2 storage.
Both phones will ship with Android 16-based HyperOS 3, and Poco says buyers will get four years of OS upgrades and six years of security updates.
Poco X8 and X8 Power: Cameras
The Poco X8 comes with a single 50-megapixel sensor on the back with a 2-megapixel depth sensor. You get a 16-megapixel front camera.
The Poco X8 Power packs a dual rear camera setup. You get a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS). This is paired with an 8-megapixel ultrawide. On the front, you get a 32-megapixel selfie shooter.
Poco says the X8 Power supports 4K video recording at 30fps on both the rear and front cameras.
Poco is also offering AI tools such as Glare Removal, Erase Pro, Image Expansion and Image Enhancement on both phones.
Poco X8 and X8 Power: Price in India
The Poco X8 starts at Rs 29,999 for the 6GB/128GB model in India. The 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB models will cost you Rs 32,999 and Rs 35,999 respectively.
The Poco X8 Power, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 35,999 for the base 8GB/128GB variant. The 8GBB/256GB variant is listed at Rs 38,999.
Poco is also offering bank offers worth Rs 3,000 for both phones. The Poco X8 and X8 Power go on sale in India via Flipkart on September 11 at 12 pm.
