Shilpa Shetty and Malaika Arora shared special posts on the occasion of International Yoga Day
It is International Yoga Day and some of our favourite Bollywood stars have shared what they love about the ancient Indian discipline. Several actors and actresses have revealed what they love about Yoga in dedicated social media posts. On top of the list are Malaika Arora and Shilpa Shetty, who are both Yoga enthusiasts and work closely with apps that teach Yoga to the general public. On the occasion, Malaika Arora shared a montage video of her practising Yoga in various spaces – in the park, studio and at home. The video also contains the note, “POV: Yoga is quieting the mind, Yoga is calming the nerves, Yoga is accepting yourself, Yoga is developing strength, growth and love, Happy International Day of Yoga.”
In the caption, she said, “This is my point of view. What is yours? Happy International Day of Yoga!”
Shilpa Shetty also shared a video in which she is seen performing a bunch of Yoga asanas in a picturesque location with the beautiful ocean behind her. In the caption, she wrote, “A spark of a smile can spread the fire of happiness around us. But to be able to do so, one needs to be happy within… Make Yoga a part of your lives too, for a healthy mind, body, and soul. As they say, a healthy person is a happy person Wishing everyone a Happy & Healthy Yoga Day. Atmanamaste,” along with a bunch of emojis.
As mentioned above, Shilpa Shetty has often shared videos demonstrating her Yoga skills. A case in point is one of her recent videos, in which she is seen performing an asana named Prasarita Padottanasana Pratirupam. In the caption, she also explained the benefits of the pose. She wrote, “Practicing the Prasarita Padottanasana Pratirupam stretches the hamstrings, calves, glutes, and lower back. It also improves hip-joint flexibility. Giving the body that much-needed stretch early in the day rejuvenates you. However, people suffering from slip-disc, high blood pressure, vertigo, and migraines should avoid this pose.”
Similarly, Malaika Arora too recently shared a video in which she is seen demonstrating a Yoga pose for the benefit of her followers. In the caption, she explained, “Today practise a great stress-relieving pose with me. Half Pigeon Pose, known as Ardha Kapotasana, is an effective hip opening asana that helps in improving and maintaining your hip flexibility. This pose releases any stiffness or tension in the back and deep stretches the lower body muscles. If you’ve had an overwhelming day, practise this pose to end your day by grounding yourself and embracing still in chaos. It will calm your nerves and relax you thoroughly.”
On the work front, Malaika Arora was last seen on the show Moving In With Malaika. Meanwhile, Shilpa Shetty will be soon making her web series debut with Indian Police Force.
