Samsung has launched the W26 in China. The device appears to be a special China-only version of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 sold internationally. The Korean giant has brought some major design changes to make the W26 an even more premium experience of its top-of-the-line smartphone.
The Samsung W26 comes in two colours – red and black. Both colours get a gold frame and trim on the camera modules, creating a luxurious design. The foldable remains the same in dimensions as the Z Fold 7, with a thickness of 8.9mm and a weight of 215 grams.
The spec sheets for the Samsung W26 remains identical to the Z Fold 7, except for one new addition. The China-only device comes with satellite calling and messaging support, which can be particularly useful during emergencies. Though this is limited within China for now.
The W26 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite and packs a 200-megapixel main sensor.

Samsung has pitched the W26 as a luxurious foldable for the high-end user. The W26 comes with 16GB RAM as standard instead of 12GB in the Z Fold 7. The device comes in 512GB and 1TB storage options, with the former starting at 16,999 Yuan (roughly Rs 2,11,00). The 1TB variant costs 18,999 Yuan (roughly Rs 2,35,000).
You also get a better unboxing experience with the W26. The device comes with a Kevlar case, a charging cable and a power adapter, something rarely seen in modern flagships nowadays.
Why is Samsung launching W26 in China?
Samsung has long since sold its W-series of foldables in China as a partnership with China Telecom. The W-series is marketed as a status symbol, catering to local consumers, and sold alongside the standard Z fold series. Samsung is not expected to bring the W26 to international markets.
