Samsung is set to host its second Galaxy Unpacked event of 2026 later today, July 22. The event will be held in London, and the phonemaker is expected to have a lot in store for us this time around, including the Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Flip 8. But this year, Samsung may have a surprise in store for us too, more on that later.
Rumours over what we can expect from this iteration of Galaxy Unpacked have been making the rounds for weeks now, and we even have seen some renders of purported devices Samsung plans to announce, such as the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and the Galaxy Watch 9.
How to watch Samsung Galaxy Unpacked?
Before we delve into every device Samsung is rumoured to release, here is how you can watch the event live. The keynote will begin at 2 pm BST (6:30 pm IST). The livestream will be available on Samsung’s official website and YouTube channel.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8
Samsung has been posting teasers regarding a new Galaxy Z Fold device for some time now, potentially with a new passport-style form factor. Unlike earlier Fold models, which followed a taller book-style design, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to be shorter and wider. Looking at the renders that have surfaced online, this device may be similar to the rumoured iPhone Fold that Apple may launch later this year.
Design aside, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is rumoured to use a 7.6-inch inner AMOLED display for a 4:3 aspect ratio, along with a 5.5-inch cover screen. This should make it easier to watch content on the inner screen, when compared to the older Galaxy Z Fold models that had a 1:1 aspect ratio.
Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 will likely pack Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset. On the camera front, leaks have hinted that the device may use a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera and two 10-megapixel selfie shooters. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 may come with a 4,800mAh battery.
While there is no official word on pricing just yet, leaks indicate that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 may start around EUR 2,069 (around Rs 2.28 lakh) in Portugal. Though India prices will likely be different. To give you some context, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 starts in India at Rs 1,74,999.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra
In case you like Samsung’s existing tall form factor for its bookstyle foldables, the company may have something for you too. As per reports, the phonemaker may launch the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, the first Ultra-branded Samsung foldable. This device will likely be more of a direct successor to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, thanks to a similar formfactor.
Going by leaked renders, you can expect the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra to come with a slim, vertically oriented design with a triple rear camera setup. The device will likely come with an 8-inch inner display and a 6.3-inch outer screen, both high-refresh rate AMOLED panels.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is expected to use the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset as the regular Z Fold 8, but cameras will likely be different. You can expect a 200-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel ultrawide, and a 12-megapixel 3x telephoto lens. Both the inner and outer displays are tipped to feature 10-megapixel selfie cameras.
Other reported upgrades for the Fold 8 Ultra include a 5,000mAh battery and 45W wired charging. Both foldables are likely to use Samsung’s new Flex Titanium technology, which uses a titanium-alloy film and titanium plate. This should allow for better support for the flexible display and reduce the visibility of the crease.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8
The Galaxy Z Flip 8 is expected to be Samsung’s new clamshell foldable. If we go by the leaks so far, it may receive more modest changes than the Fold line. Reports have suggested Samsung will largely retain the design from the Galaxy Z Flip 7, with a 4.1-inch cover display and a 6.9-inch foldable main screen.
On hardware, you can expect a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, along with a 10-megapixel front camera on the inner display. There have been mixed reports on the processor, with some saying the phone could use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and others pointing to Samsung’s Exynos 2600.
In terms of pricing, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 is reportedly expected to cost about EUR 1,349 (roughly Rs 1.48 lakh) in select markets. For context, in India, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 starts at Rs 1,09,999.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2
Apart from foldables, Samsung reportedly also has new smartwatches in the pipeline for Galaxy Unpacked. The company is expected to announce the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 at the event today. The Ultra model, in particular, is said to feature up to 5,000 nits of brightness, an 800mAh battery and an IP69K rating for added durability.
Reports around the watch line-up have also pointed to incremental upgrades for the Galaxy Watch 9, alongside improved health, sleep and wellness tracking. Both Galaxy Watch devices could use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear Elite processor which should bring performance and efficiency improvements.
The watches are expected to run on Wear OS with Samsung’s new One UI Watch 9.0.
As for pricing, the Galaxy Watch 9 may start at 409 euros (around Rs 45,000) for the 40mm dial, The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 could be priced at 749 euros (roughly Rs 82,500). Reports also suggest that Samsung may skip a new Galaxy Watch Classic this year.
Samsung Galaxy Unpacked, what else can you expect?
There is also speculation that Samsung could offer an early look at its long-rumoured smart glasses. The company has already confirmed that it is working on wearables with fashion brands including Warby Parker and Gentle Monster. These smartglasses will likely be part of the Android XR ecosystem alongside the Galaxy XR headset.
Another addition to Galaxy Unpacked could be the Galaxy Card, Samsung’s answer to the Apple Card.
It is believed that this digital-first credit card is being developed by Samsung with Visa and Barclays for the US market. It may offer Samsung Wallet integration, up to 5 per cent cashback on Samsung Store purchases and other ecosystem-linked benefits. Though an India launch is unlikely.
