Priyanka Chahar Choudhary was the second runner-up of Bigg Boss 16, while Bigg Boss Marathi winner Shiv Thakare was declared as the first runner-up of the show. Salman Khan had a special comment for Priyanka at the Bigg Boss 16 finale.
On October 1 last year, Bigg Boss returned to TV screens with its 16th season. And, on February 12, the season came to an end. After live voting, rapper MC Stan lifted the trophy of Bigg Boss 16 while Shiv Thakare and Priyanka Chahar Choudhary became first and second runners-up respectively. Throughout the season, Priyanka won millions of hearts, however, she was eliminated on the finale day. Not only for the audience, but her elimination was also a shocker for host Salman Khan.
However, Salman made sure that Priyanka got the recognition and acknowledgement she deserved. Thus, post her eviction he called her the “winner” of Bigg Boss 16. For the unversed, it all happened during the finale episode.
After announcing the eviction of the Udaariyaan actress, Salman said, “Standing up against 15-16 people at any given time…Har cheez ke baad ye ladki smile karte hue ghar se nikli hai. Mere nazar mein winner ye hai (Standing up against 15-16 people at all times is no easy feat, and even after all the things she endured in the Bigg Boss house, Priyanka is walking away from it all with a smile. She is the real winner, as far I am concerned).”
On the other hand, a section of Bigg Boss fans slammed and called MC Stan’s win “unfair”. In a conversation with Indian Express, Stan addressed the same and asserted, “I honestly don’t care about them, mujhe fark nahi padta mama. I actually like people who get jealous. It’s a very natural emotion in a human being. One just needs to accept that this wasn’t meant for them. Just like most fans, I am also shocked but I do feel I deserved to win.”
Besides Stan, Shiv, and Priyanka, this season also featured popular faces such as Archana Gautam, Shalin Bhanot, Abdu Rozik, Sajid Khan, Nimrit Ahluwalia, Soundarya Sharma, Gautam Vig, Sumbul Touqeer Khan, Gori Nagori, Ankit Gupta, Tina Datta, Sreejita De, Vikkas Manaktala, and Manya Singh.
