Nothing is set to host one of its biggest hardware launches yet, with the unveiling of the Nothing Phone 3 and the company’s first-ever over-ear headphones, likely to be called Headphone 1. The launch event is scheduled for 10:30 PM IST on July 1 and will be livestreamed globally. Ahead of the official announcement, several details about both devices have surfaced online, offering a fairly detailed look at what Nothing has in store.

Flagship ambitions with the Nothing Phone 3

If leaks are to be believed, the Nothing Phone 3 is taking a major leap in performance this year. The smartphone is rumoured to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip — a flagship-grade processor that should offer noticeable improvements in speed, multitasking, and gaming over the Snapdragon 778G found in last year’s Phone 2.

While rivals like iQOO and Poco are using the same chip in devices priced under Rs 35,000, Nothing may take a different route, positioning the Phone 3 as a more premium alternative. The device is tipped to arrive in two configurations: 12GB RAM + 256GB storage, and a higher-end 16GB + 512GB variant.

One of the standout upgrades this year is expected in the camera department. For the first time, Nothing may include a periscope-style telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, paired with a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide shooter. This would be a notable change from the dual-camera setup on the Phone 2. The front camera, too, could be getting a 50-megapixel sensor, possibly with autofocus support.

The display is said to remain a 6.7-inch LTPO OLED panel — same as last year — but with the power efficiency and fluidity that LTPO brings. The battery might also see a bump to 5,150mAh, and Nothing could offer 100W wired fast charging this time.

A bolder design and refined software?

Design-wise, leaked images suggest a slight departure from the symmetrical layout of the past two phones. The Phone 3 could feature a redesigned rear panel with individual camera sensors and a new “Glyph Matrix” interface positioned towards the top corner. The brand’s semi-transparent aesthetic is still intact, and black and off-white colours are expected at launch.

Other expected changes include eSIM support, a feature that was missing on the Phone 2. On the software side, Nothing OS is likely to bring a more refined experience with smoother animations and better system stability.

Nothing Phone 3: India price (expected)

Globally, the Nothing Phone 3 is rumoured to be priced around $799. However, in India, it could land somewhere between Rs 50,000 and Rs 60,000, making it a potential rival to the Google Pixel 9a and the iPhone 16e. Carl Pei has hinted at a premium positioning for the Phone 3, but the actual pricing will determine how it stacks up against its competition.

Headphone 1: Nothing’s big audio debut

Also launching tonight is Nothing’s first over-ear headphone. Tipped to be called the Headphone 1, the product is generating buzz for both its specs and its striking design. Unlike most circular or oval-shaped headphones in the market, Headphone 1 is said to have a boxy, retro-inspired look that resembles an old-school cassette player.

Weighing around 329 grams, the headphones are expected to feature custom 40mm drivers, adaptive active noise cancellation up to 42dB, and a massive 1,040mAh battery that could offer 80 hours of playback without ANC and 35 hours with ANC on.

There’s also talk of a partnership with British high-end audio brand KEF, which could give the headphones an edge in audio fidelity. Additional features may include spatial audio, an 8-band equaliser, adaptive bass, and compatibility with Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair.

Physical controls, LED charging indicators, a low-latency gaming mode, and support for Google’s Find My Device service are also expected to be part of the package. The Nothing headphones are expected to be priced under Rs 20,000.
