India, Ukraine ink four agreements during Modi-Zelenskyy meet
Amid the Russia-Ukraine war, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that India is ready to play any role as a friend to help bring peace. During an interaction with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv, Modi reiterated that the conflict should be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy.
Modi said he had come to Ukraine with a message of peace. He added that “we support the respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty.”

Modi assured that India is ready to make proactive contributions towards peace efforts.

India and Ukraine held bilateral talks on wide-ranging topics on Friday. Both nations inked four agreements following the Modi-Zelenskyy talks.
Officials said the agreements would provide cooperation in areas of agriculture, the food industry, medicine, culture, and humanitarian assistance.
Meanwhile, Zelenskyy said that Modi’s visit to Ukraine was ‘very friendly’ and ‘historic’. Zelenskyy said he planned to discuss a summit on peace in
Ukraine, along with Modi, also called for strengthened trade and military cooperation with India.
It is the first-ever visit to Ukraine by an Indian prime minister after Ukraine became independent in 1991. Modi’s visit comes amid Kyiv’s fresh military offensive in Russia’s western Kursk region.
