Aashiqui 3, starring Kartik Aaryan and Triptii Dimri, has reportedly been postponed. Meanwhile, filmmaker Anurag Basu is rumored to be working on a fresh love story with Kartik in the lead.
Shortly after Triptii Dimri joined the project, reports circulated about the postponement of the third installment. According to Mid-Day, the Animal actor, who was initially excited to be part of the film, has now left the project. Speculations say that title issues have caused the delay, with the project being postponed indefinitely.
According to Zoom, Triptii’s flamboyant image in Animal did not fit with the universe of Aashiqui, thus the makers are seeking for a new face to play the role.
An official confirmation is still pending.
The filmmakers need someone who captures the franchise’s purity and charm.
Kartik and Anurag Basu, on the other hand, are said to be working on a new love saga, which will begin production in January or early February of 2025. Filming is likely to begin in Mumbai, with the casting process for the female lead actress already begun.
The first installment, released in 1990, starred Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal. The sequel, starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor, was released in April 2013. The third installment is anticipated to star Kartik Aaryan in the lead. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the third installment of the love drama since its announcement.
