The singer was born on February 2 1977 in Barranquilla, Colombia. Her full name is Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll. Her parents are William Mebarak Chadid and Nidia Ripoll Torrado. She is the only child from her parents but has nine half-siblings from his father’s side. One of her half brothers died at the age of 2 because of a motorcycle accident, Tonio.
