Billionaire Elon Musk has posted a photo of himself on Christmas dressed as Santa Claus and called himself an ‘Ozempic Santa’, referring to the type-2 diabetes drug for weight loss.
In the picture, Musk is dressed in a Santa Claus costume, complete with a red suit, white beard and has a jolly smile as he posed in front of a Christmas tree.
The tech mogul also revealed that he took Mounjaro, a drug similar to Ozempic that treats type-2 diabetics by lowering the blood sugar levels of an individual.
In two subsequent replies to his post, Musk said, “Like Cocaine Bear, but Santa and Ozempic! Technically, Mounjaro, but that doesn’t have the same ring to it.”
he US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) gave its approval to Mounjaro under the brand name Zepbound to treat patients having obesity with the weight management drug.
On December 11, Musk backed the need for such weight-loss drugs, saying, “Nothing would do more to improve the health, lifespan and quality of life for Americans than making (GLP-1 drugs) a super low cost to the public. Nothing else is even close.”
Some of the most popular GLP-1 drugs used to treat type-2 diabetes patients for weight management are Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro and Zepbound.
Meanwhile, Musk, the world’s richest person, has been tapped by US President-elect Donald Trump to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), aimed at drastically slashing government spending. Trump will take office on January 20, 2025.
