Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday took charge for the third term along with 71 other ministers who were inducted into his new Cabinet. The Modi 3.0 government has already swung into action with all the Union ministries and their respective departments being asked to give final touches to their 100-day action plan presentation.
The plan for the next 100 days of Modi government will be presented before the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and then the Union Council of Ministers next week, News18 has reported.
“The 100-Day Action Plan is ready. The 10 Sectoral Groups of Secretaries (SGOS) have already made presentations before the Cabinet Secretary and the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister. The final plans will be presented before the PMO and the Union Council of Ministers in batches next week post the return of Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the G-7 Summit in Italy,” a senior government official told News18.
Another official said that the presentation is ready but discussions are still going on to add any new points or changes to it. “We have been told to prepare the final presentation. We are told that a final date will be given for presenting it in the coming days, but as of now, we have been informed that it will most likely be around June 17-18,” a second senior official told News18 on condition of anonymity.
All ministries had already started work on their respective 100-day action plan after a meeting with PM Modi on March 3 this year. The meeting was attended by top government officials including Union Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba. All secretaries were divided into 10 groups called the Sectoral Groups of Secretaries (SGOS) and they were asked to prepare the plans.
According to The Economic Times, the Ministry of Home Affairs will aim to implement new criminal laws from July 1. The other key aspect will be holding assembly polls in Jammu & Kashmir before the Supreme Court deadline of September 30. The defence ministry may also set up a new export promotion body.
The 100-day action plan also includes tracking progress of delayed project for each year over the next five years.
An official told News18 said that the Ministry of Education (MoE) has several crucial projects, including implementing One Nation-One Data; taking forward Foreign Higher Education Institutions (FHEIs) policy; improving assessment and accreditation systems for colleges and universities; and wider implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP), among others.

According to News18, the six building blocks identified by the secretaries for the plan are “macroeconomy, empowered citizens, thriving and sustainable economy, technology and innovation leadership, effective governance, and Bharat as Vishwabandhu”.
