Deepika Padukone may be at BAFTA film awards but her look is completely ‘Hindustani’. The actor will be presenting an award at the event.
Actor Deepika Padukone has gone completely Indian as she gets ready to present an award at the BAFTA award ceremony to be held late tonight. The actor shared her look for the BAFTA ceremony and she was all dressed up in a shimmery gold saree with her hair tied up. She will be walking the red carpet at the prestigious event to be held at Royal Festival Hall in London, which is considered a barometer for the upcoming Oscar awards.
Deepika dropped two photos ahead of the ceremony. While one was a close-up shot that showed off her messy bun, the second photo showed off her complete look. The actor looked gorgeous in the saree and also earned kudos for choosing a saree for the event. “What a lovely look,” wrote a fan, while another said, “Deepika proves dil hai Hindustani.”
Besides Deepika, the roster of award presenters at BAFTA include Cate Blanchett, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Daisy Edgar Jones, Daryl McCormack, Andrew Scott, Bryce Dallas Howard, Keegan-Michael Key, Marisa Abela, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Lily Collins, Rebecca Ferguson, Sheila Atim and Taylor Russell. Deepika had earlier addressed the news on Instagram and responded with a simple message saying, ‘Gratitude.’ She had also made an appearance at the Academy Awards in 2023 where she introduced the song Nattu Nattu from RRR.
While actor David Tennant will host the award event, Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer is a front-runner with 13 nominations, the highest of any film this year. The film is also expected to win a record number of awards, with many expecting it to emerge as the most awarded film in the history of the event.
On the work front, Deepika was last seen in Fighter, which also starred Hrithik Roshan. She had a successful 2023 where she was seen in Pathaan and an extended cameo in Jawan, both co-starring Shah Rukh Khan.
