Rahul Gandhi says Ayodhya consecration ceremony was BJP’s political Programme.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday charged Assam Chief Minister Himant Biswa Sarma was the most corrupt in the country. He added the chief minister’s actions have only benefited the yatra.
Gandhi told presspersons, “The chief minister of the state is one of the most corrupt chief ministers in the country.” Gandhi said people in Assam complained to him about massive unemployment, massive corruption, massive price rise, farmers’ struggle and lack of job opportunities for youth. “These are the issues we are raising and we are being very successful in it,” Gandhi said.
On restrictions faced by the Yatra in Assam, he said, “What Assam CM is doing against the Yatra is actually helping it. We are getting the publicity that we may not have got otherwise. (Bharat Jodo Nyay) Yatra has become a main issue in Assam. Preventing from visiting the temple, college, it is their style. We are not intimidated by them, we are not afraid of them,” Gandhi said.
Gandhi said the yatra is about five pillars of justice that will give strength to the country -participation, justice for youth, labourers, women, and farmers.
Asked about the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya and how he would counter the wave it has generated in the country, Gandhi said, “It is nothing like that, that there is a wave. I had said earlier also that this is the BJP’s political programme and Narendra Modi ji did a function and a show there, it’s good, but we have told you, we have clarity about our programme which is about five justices to strengthen the country.”
