At 9:22 am, the BSE Sensex was trading at 72,181.44, up 256.76 points or 0.36%. The NSE Nifty 50 stood at 22,440.50, gaining 77.15 points or 0.34%.
The early recovery comes as investors assess global cues and developments in crude oil prices amid continuing geopolitical uncertainty. However, with trading still in its opening minutes, it remains to be seen whether the gains will hold through the session.
Crude oil prices remain a key factor for the domestic market. As a major oil importer, India faces the risk of a higher import bill, pressure on the rupee and renewed inflationary pressures if energy prices remain elevated. These factors could weigh on corporate margins and complicate the outlook for interest rates.
