On Wednesday, actor Allu Arjun filed a petition with the Telangana High Court to have an FIR against him dismissed. This FIR relates to the tragic death of a woman who suffocated during the premiere of his film, Pushpa 2, at a Hyderabad theater. The incident occurred on December 4 when a massive crowd gathered at Sandhya Theatre to see the actor, resulting in the unfortunate death of the 35-year-old woman and hospitalization of her eight-year-old son.
Following this event, on December 5, local police initiated legal action against Allu Arjun, his security personnel, and the theater management under Sections 105 and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), prompted by a complaint from the woman’s family. In connection with this investigation, authorities arrested three individuals: one of the theater’s owners, a senior manager, and the person responsible for managing the lower balcony area.
In his plea to quash the FIR, Arjun has also sought a stay on any further legal actions or arrests until his petition is resolved. The High Court is anticipated to review this case soon. Additionally, Allu Arjun had previously pledged financial support of 25 lakh to assist the family of the deceased woman.
