Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Friday declared in the Assembly that the outcome of the 2024 parliamentary elections was already decided, and the BJP would emerge victorious in the 2027 and 2032 state polls as well.
Taking a jibe at Leader of Opposition and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav who targeted the government in the Vidhan Sabha on farm income, caste census and failure to appoint a permanent DGP, the CM said Yadav’s speech made it clear as to why people did not choose them in the 2014, 2017, 2019 and 2022 Lok Sabha and Assembly polls.
“The statement (Akhilesh’s) makes it clear that the people’s verdicts in 2014, 2017, 2019, and 2022 were not just like that. Those born with a silver spoon would never understand the problems of the poor, farmers or Dalits. The way the backward classes were treated during the previous government is not hidden from anyone.

Friday was the final day of the monsoon session of the Assembly. In his speech, Akhilesh also brought up issues including stray cattle, inflation and “water-logging” in Gorakhpur. On water-logging, the CM dismissed the allegation and said that despite unexpectedly heavy rainfall, the people of Gorakhpur are living comfortably.
Akhilesh urged the CM to set up a “Saand Safari” (Bull Safari) to save people on the roads from stray cattle. He claimed that the Uttar Pradesh government was selling the “dream” of “$1 trillion” economy without focusing on the agriculture sector.
