IMD Alert On Biparjoy
The Meteorological Department has issued a significant warning regarding Cyclone Biparjoy. On Sunday, it grew more intense, and as it moved towards Gujarat’s Saurashtra coast, its effects began to become more noticeable. On the seashores of Valsad, the Biparjoy storm’s effects can be seen. IMD stated in the advisory that there is a chance of heavy to very heavy rainfall in a few locations on June 14 and very heavy rainfall in a few locations on June 15 in the affected districts. The active “Biparjoy” over the East Central Arabian Sea was moving towards the northeast at a speed of eight kilometres per hour around 4.30 pm on Sunday, according to the Meteorological Department.
Biparjoy effect on India
An official stated on Sunday that the cyclone is likely to strike the districts of Kutch, Jamnagar, Morbi, Gir Somnath, Porbandar, and Devbhoomi Dwarka between June 13 and 15, as a result of heavy rains and winds blowing at a pace of 150 km per hour. On Sunday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted that the cyclone, with winds of 125–130 kmph with gusts to 150 kmph, will very likely cross the Saurashtra–Kutch and Karachi coasts on June 15.
