Tiger 3 actor Salman Khan has been issued a firearm license. The actor had reportedly applied for a gun license after allegedly receiving a death threat from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The firearm license was provided after due background check and document verification.
Salman Khan has been issued a gun license by the Mumbai Police. The actor had applied for a gun license amid looming threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang which came almost a month ago. The firearm has been issued to the actor for self-protection.
There were reports of Salman having upgraded to a Land Cruiser ever since the threats. The vehicle has apparently been fitted with armour and bulletproof glass. Salman Khan and his father, Salim Khan, had received a threat letter from the gang.
This is not the first time that the Tiger 3 actor has received a death threat from them. During the blackbuck poaching case, Lawrence Bishnoi had allegedly made similar threats to the Dabangg actor. In Bishnoi community, blackbucks are considered sacred and its killing had angered the people of the community.
As per a report in Hindustan Times, Khan’s license has been collected by one of his representatives. Due process was reportedly followed in issuing the license. Salman Khan’s criminal record and background were checked before the firearm license was issued to the actor.
Soon after the threatening letter, Salman had met the Mumbai police commissioner at his office. The meeting went on for quite some time. Salman and his father’s security have also been beefed up ever since. Security on Salman’s film sets has also been tightened.
The threat was one of the reasons why Salman didn’t pay his fans a visit from his balcony like every year on the occasion of Eid. As per reports, Salim Khan was taking a walk amid security at the Bandstand when one of the security men found the threatening note. The note read, “Moosewala jaisa kar doonga” (same fate as Sidhu Moosewala).
The Punjabi singer was reportedly killed by the members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
