OnePlus has officially introduced the Ace 6T in China, marking the first smartphone to be launched with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. The Ace 6T is expected to debut in India as the OnePlus 15R. The device not only improves upon its predecessor but beats the flagship OnePlus 15 to the punch in one key area.
OnePlus Ace 6T battery is bigger than OnePlus 15
The standout feature of the OnePlus Ace 6T is its 8,300mAh battery, which is among the largest ever seen in a performance flagship. The battery uses a high-density silicon-carbon anode design and supports 100W wired fast charging. OnePlus claims that it can reach 50 per cent charge in just 23 minutes. For context, the OnePlus 15 has a 7,300mAh battery pack.

Under the hood, the OnePlus Ace 6T debuts Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC, built on a 3nm process. The OnePlus 15R will be the first model to bring this chipset to global markets. The phone also includes a proprietary G2 network chip and a custom display chip, with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. OnePlus reports an AnTuTu score of about 3.56 million, which is not far behind the latest flagships powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
OnePlus Ace 6T display, cameras and other features
The display on the Ace 6T is a 6.83-inch flat AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution and adaptive refresh rates up to 165Hz. It features 10-bit colour, 100 per cent DCI-P3 coverage, with a peak brightness of 3,600 nits. For gamers, there’s a 3200Hz touch sampling rate and a custom Lingxi touch chip to minimise input lag. The display specifications are expected to remain identical in the OnePlus 15R.
Camera hardware consists of a dual setup: a 50-megapixel Sony IMX906 main sensor with OIS and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera on the rear. The front camera is a 16-megapixel unit. In India, the OnePlus 15R is expected to get a 50-megapixel ultrawide.
Gaming is a central focus for the device. It features a Glacier cooling system with a vapour chamber and layered graphite for heat management.
Other notable features include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, IP66/68/69/69K dust and water resistance, and Android 16 with ColorOS 16. The Ace 6T is offered in Phantom Green, Electric Purple, and Flash Black. It also comes with a special Genshin Impact Kamisato Ayaka Limited Edition. Though it is unclear if OnePlus 15R will get this edition globally.
OnePlus Ace 6T and OnePlus 15R launch and expected price
Pricing for the OnePlus Ace 6T starts at 2,599 yuan (roughly Rs 33,230) for the 12GB/256GB model, scaling up to 3,899 yuan (roughly Rs 49,850) for the 16GB/1TB variant.
There is little information available for the pricing of the OnePlus 15R in India. The device will go on sale on December 17 in our market. Its predecessor, the OnePlus 13R, was launched at Rs 42,999.
