The increase in participation reflects the league’s rapid growth — the number of registered players has more than doubled from the previous edition of the tournament, which featured only 120 names.
This year’s auction list includes an impressive 194 Indian players, divided into 52 capped and 142 uncapped talents, who will compete for 50 of the 73 slots available across the five franchises. The overseas contingent is equally strong, featuring 66 capped and 17 uncapped international players vying for the remaining 23 positions on team rosters.
With most franchises choosing to retain their core players from last season, the upcoming auction is expected to be a crucial opportunity for teams to reshape their squads, plug gaps, and rebuild ahead of the 2026 campaign. The auction, scheduled to begin at 3:30 PM IST, will open with the marquee set — a high-profile group featuring eight of the world’s top women’s cricketers. The list includes India’s Deepti Sharma and Renuka Singh, New Zealand stars Sophie Devine and Amelia Kerr, England’s premier spinner Sophie Ecclestone, Australia’s seasoned duo Alyssa Healy and Meg Lanning, and South Africa’s elegant opener Laura Wolvaardt.
