Benchmark stock market indices ended the special one-hour Muhurat Trading session on a positive note, extending their festive winning streak for the eighth consecutive year.
The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty50 both closed in the green, led by gains in Cipla and Bajaj Finserv, even as mid-session profit booking trimmed early advances.
Ponmudi R, CEO of Enrich Money, said the session reflected “muted yet resilient” market sentiment, with benchmark indices consolidating near their recent highs.
“Despite lighter volumes and mild profit-taking, the Nifty held firm above key short-term supports, underscoring strong momentum and steady investor confidence,” he noted.
Technically, the Nifty50 remains bullish as long as it sustains above 25,800, with immediate support at 25,750. A breakout above 26,000–26,300 could drive fresh lifetime highs.
Open interest data for the October 28 expiry indicates a mildly positive bias, with strong Put bases at 25,600–25,700 and Call resistance at 26,000–26,200.
The Bank Nifty ended marginally lower at 58,007, pausing after a strong run-up. The index faces resistance between 57,900 and 58,200, while support lies at 57,400–57,600. A sustained close above 58,250 could trigger an upside move toward 59,200.
