Samsung has confirmed that it will hold a new Galaxy Unpacked event on September 4. The announcement comes just a few days before Apple is set to unveil the iPhone 17 series on September 9, making it clear that both companies are preparing for a busy start to the month.
The event will be streamed online and is also positioned right before the IFA 2025 technology fair in Berlin, which usually brings a series of consumer electronics launches. Samsung has not disclosed the full list of products it plans to show, but the event invite suggests that a new Galaxy Tab that can already be reserved. The details of this tablet, however, remain under wraps.
In addition to this, Samsung typically refreshes its Fan Edition line around this time of the year, which means there is a strong chance that the Galaxy S25 FE could be part of the showcase. Recent leaks from South Korea have suggested that the S25 FE will be introduced on September 19, slightly earlier than last year’s S24 FE which made its debut towards the end of September. So, the event could likely be for the FE device.
According to leaks, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 FE could come with Samsung’s Exynos 2400 processor, a 6.7-inch AMOLED display running at 120Hz, Gorilla Glass Victus protection, and a triple rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel main sensor. It is also expected to house a 4,500mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging and 15W wireless charging.
Beyond smartphones and tablets, there has also been speculation around Samsung’s work on a “tri-fold” foldable phone. The company itself mentioned such a device during an earnings call earlier this month. But given that Samsung usually saves its most experimental products for large-scale, in-person events, it is unlikely that the tri-fold will make its debut during this virtual presentation.
With the livestream set for 3PM IST on September 4, all eyes will be on what Samsung has planned. The timing of the announcement, falling so close to Apple’s iPhone 17 launch, sets the stage for an intense round of new product unveilings in the global smartphone market.
