Samsung is set to host its annual Galaxy Unpacked event today, January 22. At the event, the company is all but confirmed to launch four new smartphones: the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, Galaxy S25 Ultra, and the highly-anticipated Galaxy S25 Slim. The latter, however, is said to only be unveiled at the event today, with its launch scheduled for some time later. Ahead of the launch, nothing has officially been revealed, but there have been ample leaks and teasers about the new Samsung flagships that give us a decent idea about what to expect from the phone. Here are 5 things we may already know about the 2025 Galaxy flagships.
Galaxy S25 series to sport a Snapdragon chipset
The Samsung Galaxy S25 series will likely feature a Snapdragon chipset. This comes from a teaser from Snapdragon itself. In a post by Samsung on X, announcing the official launch date for the Galaxy Unpacked, Snapdragon responded with a “See you there”. This all but confirms that the Galaxy S25 smartphones will be powered by the company’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
Galaxy S25 series pricing in India
The Samsung Galaxy S25 series may cost more than the Galaxy S24 series. This is based on a recent leak that suggested that, in Europe, the Galaxy S25 base variant with 128GB storage will be priced at 964 euros, which is approximately Rs 85,000, the 256GB model is expected to cost 1,026 euros (around Rs 91,000), whereas the 512GB one could be priced around 1,151 euros (about Rs 1,01,000). Compared to the Galaxy S24, it launched in India with a price tag of Rs 79,999 for the 256GB variant, and Rs 89,999 for the 512GB model.
As for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the base model will reportedly be priced starting at 1,557 euros, which in direct conversion would be around Rs 1,38,000, while the price of the top variant with 1TB storage is believed to be as high as Rs 1,70,000 approximately.
For perspective, the Galaxy S24 Ultra was priced starting at Rs 1,29,000 for the base variant, and the top model cost Rs 1,59,999.
Galaxy S25 series storage options
Leaks have also revealed the storage options we can expect on the Galaxy S25 series phone. Reportedly, the Galaxy S25 will come in three storage variants: 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB options. The Galaxy S25+ is believed to skip the 128GB variant this year and come with only the 256GB and 512GB options. The Galaxy S25 Ultra, on the other hand, is rumoured to come in a 512GB and a 1TB variant.
Galaxy S25 Slim-ness leaked
One of the highlights of the Galaxy Unpacked event is expected to be the much-talked-about Galaxy S25 Slim. And as the name suggests, the device is expected to be the slimmest phone by Samsung yet. A recent leak revealed that the Galaxy S25 Slim will measure a mere 6.4mm in thickness –– that’s if you don’t include the camera module’s protruded thickness. If you include that, it would reportedly measure around 8.3mm. That is still quite impressive considering the Galaxy S25 Ultra is rumoured to be 8.2mm thick even without the camera bump.
Galaxy S25 series pre-reservations
Samsung has officially opened the pre-reservations for the Galaxy S25 series devices in India. For a refundable amount of Rs 1,999, customers can pre-reserve their Galaxy S25 ahead of the official launch. Do note, this is not equivalent to pre-booking a device, you will still have to place an order for the device you want. However, this will ensure early access, and will also let you avail some discounts worth up to Rs 5,000. The pre-reservation benefits will be available both at online and offline stores.
