Allu Arjun was arrested on December 13, 2024, in connection with the killing of a lady at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad after the screening of Pushpa 2: The Rule earlier this month. The woman, along with music director Devi Sri Prasad, died as a result of the chaos caused by the enormous crowds flocking to see Allu Arjun. The main gate of the theatre fell amid the ensuing turmoil, resulting in a stampede. A 35-year-old lady died, and her 9-year-old child received critical injuries.Allu Arjun was seized from his home and placed under 14-day judicial imprisonment. He was granted four weeks of interim bail with a personal bond of Rs 50,000. However, due to bureaucratic delays, he ended up spending the night in jail.

Following his release, Allu Arjun expressed sadness, calling the woman’s death “very unfortunate”. “I thank everyone, this incident was very unfortunate, we are extremely sorry whatever happened, we are with the family, this never happened with anyone, I am here to support the family in every way, I am thankful to everyone,” the Telugu actress said in a prepared statement.
